As a school reunion approaches, 33-year-old Shi Won and her friends look back on the days when their memories were shaped by the rise of 1990s idol groups and a rapidly growing K-pop scene. In her teens, Shi Won was passionately obsessed with a boy band, part of an intense fan culture that defined a generation coming of age around pop music.
