Thelma “Mama” Harper shares her house with her younger sister Fran, but their routine changes when Thelma opens the door to her recently divorced son Vinton and his two teenagers. With three more family members under one roof, everyone has to adjust to a crowded new home life, especially the cranky and argumentative Mama, whose patience is tested by the daily clashes around her.
