After the death of her overbearing mother, stop-motion animator Ella Blake tries to keep her inner demons under control by throwing herself into a new film. But the project soon becomes a battleground for her sanity. As Ella’s grip on reality begins to fracture, the characters she is creating seem to take on a life of their own.
