In early-2000s Southern California, Hayoung is a lonely 16-year-old Korean American girl trying to fit into a wealthy, elite high school world far from her own. As she hides her troubled family life and lower-income background from new affluent friends, she faces derision, rising tensions, and the difficult pull between two very different parts of her life.
