A broken, middle-aged comedian travels through the Mojave Desert, playing a string of dead-end club shows across the Southwest as he tries to keep a fading career alive. Working his way toward Los Angeles, he carries the hope of meeting his estranged daughter, moving from one bleak stop to the next while his personal and professional life continue to wear him down.
