Carrie White is a shy, withdrawn teenager with no friends, trapped between cruel classmates at school and a domineering, fanatically religious mother at home. As the bullying and abuse intensify, Carrie begins to suspect she has supernatural telekinetic powers. When a humiliating moment at her senior prom pushes her too far, her fear and anger take a dark, violent turn.
