A Serious Man

In 1967, Larry Gopnik is a physics professor at a quiet Midwestern university whose orderly life begins to come apart all at once. His wife, Judith, tells him she is leaving him for Sy Ableman, a pompous acquaintance, and a string of sudden troubles follows. As Larry looks for meaning and answers in the chaos around him, each attempt to steady himself only seems to pull him deeper into uncertainty.
